A brilliant electro mix by KOZILEK. It’s my birthday today, I’m on my way to PAX East to see all sorts of friends. Have a good Friday, I’m planning to.
You can also download KOZILEK’s latest EP, Pluto.
Yarin Lindor - İ ∆Ϻ †ḦЄ Đ∆ИԌЄṜ
Opening with a western riff and Breaking Bad samples and going straight into a mix of Shake Dat Ass somehow managed to instantly earn my respect. I would post the tracklist but Yarin made it all unicode something or other, you are more than welcome to check it out on the SoundCloud page itself. I will never refuse a chance to use the tag “future bass”.
HAPPY FRIDAY! I hope you have a good weekend!
One of those times I wish I could say it better but simply cannot:

His other project, boerd, just had a release that you can listen to on his Soundcloud. You may also know him from the band, Stay Ali
シャルロ - Take Me Out To The Discotheque
An older release on the same netlabel as doremimate, シャルロ/Charlot makes some excellent house/electro jams, including a house track that samples Edward Meeker’s American classic, “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”.
Also check out their post-rock, shoegaze release from last year titled Out of Orbit. The mood is completely different but it is oh-so-lovely.
Maskinen - Dansa Med Vapen (feat. Marina Gasolina)
This is one from the vault, still as catchy as the first day I heard it though. Maskinen (which is Swedish for “The Machine”) makes this combination of electro/hip-hop that just makes you bounce. Better yet, “Dansa Med Vapen” is them collaborating with Marina Gasolina (formerly of Bonde Do Rolê), so I’m not sure you’ll find many more songs that have both Swedish AND Portuguese lyrics.
More listening/watching: their video for “Alla som inte dansar”, that had some fairly controversial lyrics.
Danimal Cannon and Zef - Parallel Processing
Anyone even remotely familiar with chipmusic in 2012 will tell you that Danimal Cannon and Zef, individually, were already forces to be reckoned with. Dan mentioned this collab to me several months ago, likely at a show and when it was just starting to form.
What often feels like the most bizarre and somewhat metal face-off of dueling Gameboys turns into an extended jam session between two of the more brilliant programmers of the medium. Danimal Cannon’s melodies lead Zef’s chunky electro hits through what I can only assume is the musical equivalent of walking across the multiverse.
You can check out more of Danimal Cannon’s music at his Bandcamp or his band’s Bandcamp (who just released a new album a week ago!). ALSO, Fangamer has teamed up with Danimal Cannon to offer a merch bundle. DON’T MISS IT
You can find more of Zef’s music at his Bandcamp or his Soundcloud, where he posts improv sounds and experiments as well as finished tracks.
Vocal-heavy electro from The Hair Kid makes me wonder whatever happened to the Audio Bullys. The Hair Kid’s foray into original tracks is an electrifying eye-opener from the previously remix-mostly DJ, an electro-disco Beastie Boys breath of fresh air.
gotta get hip to electrohop
Don’t miss: the video for Android Poppin’, off of this very EP
Also check out: The Hair Kid’s Soundcloud, featuring pretty much every remix and bootleg remix he’s made.
Seriously fun EP from OVERWERK, it has all of the crunchiness that I want out of electro accompanied by small but awesome vocal samples,
OVERWERK has several more tracks and remixes over on his SoundCloud.
The Otter Gang - Nutrias en el Zoológico
IT’S FRIDAY, THERE’S A COUPLE OF HOURS UNTIL THE WEEKEND, YOUR BOSS DIDN’T COME IN TODAY, THE OFFICE IS DEAD, TIME TO CRANK UP THOSE WEEKEND JAMS.
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYBODY
this post brought to you by Cruise Control for Cool
Inspired by the short film 88:88, Makeup and Vanity Set released an entire album’s worth of music in addition to scoring the film. Their cinematic style of electro is fairly unique, 88:88’s soundtrack feels like a continuation to the Charles Park soundtrack series (parts 1, 2 and 3)
Edit: This is the full short film that inspired this album’s worth of music.
