Someone recently mentioned to me that the world lost its dream of space, I don’t really disagree. With NASA’s budget cut ever slimmer year after year and the privatization of space exploration, we are no longer reaching outside of our blue orb as a human race but instead poking corporate sticks at the ant mound abyss of the stars to find some value.
I think what Infinity Shred (formerly Starscream) is trying to accomplish is to revive and rekindle that dream of space exploration in an era as grim as ours. The crowd at the last Starscream show on Saturday was young, a little reckless, but most importantly; completely entranced by the sounds Damon, George and Nate made on stage. To stand there and not let that curious perfect show energy wash over you during their set was a complete waste. “Maybe we can do this”, I said to myself as the set ended, “Maybe not all is lost, it just tripped hard along the way”.
