Mat Zo & Porter Robinson - Easy
WHY HAVEN’T YOU WATCHED THIS YET? YOU BETTER HAVE A REALLY GOOD EXCUSE
Bird Peterson - The Drankenstein SXSW 2013 Special
I don’t have a lot to say, been bumpin’ this most of the day. I have a long list of music to get through, hopefully more next week!.
“Another silver mojito, xie xie”, it had been far too long since my last stint off-world and almost as long since I was in the real. Closing my eyes makes me dizzy, far too much time without closing them does that. The beach on this moon stretched for miles, pre-Sprawl neo-Caribbean, but without the cruise liners; white sands, palm trees, unnecessary necessary tiki bar, the works. A band had finished setting up near the large acoustic shell by the bar, the lead gets on the mic, nods and starts playing some notes on his computer…
Someone described this as cyberpunk fusion jazz. I can’t think of a more apt description.
The Knife - A Tooth For An Eye
First, the statement accompanying the video:
‘A Tooth For An Eye’ deconstructs images of maleness, power and leadership. Who are the people we trust as our leaders and why? What do we have to learn from those we consider inferior? In a sport setting where one would traditionally consider a group of men as powerful and in charge, an unexpected leader emerges. A child enters and allows the men to let go of their hierarchies, machismo and fear of intimacy, as they follow her into a dance. Their lack of expertise and vulnerability shines through as they perform the choreography. Amateurs and skilled dancers alike express joy and a sense of freedom; There is no prestige in their performance. The child is powerful, tough and sweet all at once, roaring “I’m telling you stories, trust me”. There is no shame in her girliness, rather she possesses knowledge that the men lost a long time ago.
Second, THE KNIFE IS MAKING ANOTHER ALBUM AND IT’S GOING TO BE RELEASED SOON. It’s their first album in 7 years since their hit “Silent Shout” and I could not be more excited. You can pre-order the album off of the many links on their site, including their own digital store.

Tah Rei - “Dances with Moombah”
Welcome to the fake holiday I celebrate for moombahton! Why today? It doesn’t coincide with anything major and it was the day Dave Nada revealed how moombahton came to be.
Anyway, Tah Rei made an excellent moombahton mixtape that includes tracks from all over the world.
You can buy an actual tape with the mixes on them from Bandcamp.
Just going to take this opportunity to say moombahton 5 more times: moombahton moombahton moombahton moombahton moombahton
Trimbal - Confidence Boost (Harmonimix)
Trimbal, known also as Trim, killed it last year with this track, it’s hella powerful and smooth, likely partly to blame because of James Blake’s excellent production.

Yarin Lindor - İ ∆Ϻ †ḦЄ Đ∆ИԌЄṜ
Opening with a western riff and Breaking Bad samples and going straight into a mix of Shake Dat Ass somehow managed to instantly earn my respect. I would post the tracklist but Yarin made it all unicode something or other, you are more than welcome to check it out on the SoundCloud page itself. I will never refuse a chance to use the tag “future bass”.
HAPPY FRIDAY! I hope you have a good weekend!
