The Etoro Sessions are fantastic, often almost an hour, sometimes a little less or a little less filled with excellent world music (a term I don’t really like but describes this well), mainly focusing on Latin genres. They’re all pretty great, I would recommend just hitting play on a random one.
For all of a week, I thought Deltron 3030’s Event II was my favorite piece of hip-hop of the year, and don’t get me wrong, it’s really good, but Rekcahdam’s Space Time Capsule sneaks in to steal the title. Maybe it’s partly because I’ve met Roger, but the incredibly smooth flow, earnest lyrics and goofy skits just make this an incredibly well-rounded and excellent hip-hop album.
There’s even a skit that includes a sketch of “Major Tom”. What’s not to love? I won’t spoil the ending of the album, but it’s perfect. Don’t rush to it, take your time, listen to it the whole way through.
Hi, my name is Dannel Jurado and I highly enjoy ridiculous music videos for hilarious songs that are actually pretty great. I hope that you will understand, nod, and shake your booty.
Future bass? Brazilian bass? Zouk bass? This has got it, including several of my favorite Tropkillaz tracks.
Apologies for the lack of posts, life has been busy and I’ve been doing a lot of music listening for myself. I try to share what I can, when I can.
Some posts are bittersweet to write up. After 4 years of making music, 26 releases and countless live shows, SMILETRON is done. NoiseChannel is kind enough to host a mirror of all of his releases, but they are also available on his Bandcamp, which I will always encourage you to support. Thank you SMILETRON, for all the lovely tunes. I hope to see your prolific creativity in some other form soon!
